Bound for State

The team with their certificate verifying their 4th place finish and eligibility for State Championships

Alex and Alec review their robot run with a judge.

In a rocket-from-behind finish, the CCBS team competed in the regional First LEGO League on Saturday and placed 4th overall – qualifying them for the State Championships in North Charleston on March 5th!

This will be the 6th year in a row that the CCBS team has competed at State, a consistency that this team modeled with gusto. The team stayed tight on details, giving them the edge for the last qualifying spot. Best of all for a very proud Coach Nick Linscott was getting to watch Alec, Alex, Ben, Daniel, Dylan, Harrison, Jon and Wes have fun in a traditional school activity with students from all over the county – even dancing! Special thanks to the parents who were able to be present and cheer. By all accounts, it meant a great deal to have your support.

We hope you will join us in congratulating Nick and the boys for their outstanding achievment!

GO BEARS!

Congratulations, Ethan!

With full hearts, we celebrated Ethan’s graduation today!

Ethan was heralded by students and staff for his ability to be a wonderful friend and to persevere, even when it was very difficult.

Though not as cold as the past few days, this graduation was distinct for the landscape – a blanket of snow still covers the wooded areas of campus, including the Ceremonial Circle.

We are so proud of you, Resilient Rattlesnake! You will be much missed!

Bears v. Seneca

The CCBS Bears were outmatched by Seneca last night. Regardless of the score, the boys put in a great effort with strong teamwork and opportunities for everyone to be a part of the game.

Tomorrow the boys will take on Fair Oak. Go Bears!!

Winter Wonderland

All is well here on campus today. We have had a wonderful “snow day” as you can see in the photos below.  Some of the boys headed out for snow play and others stayed warm and dry inside.
